How did you fall in love with your favourite author? Recommend us a book by them. 📚 The first book by Stephen King that I’ve read was The Eyes of the Dragon, back when I didn’t know who Stephen King was. I didn’t like it. Then, having heard more about SK, I started Shining. I didn’t like it. Then I think I got to Pet Sematary, which was okish, and Carrie, which I reaaaally enjoyed, then Misery, which blew me away, then Gerald’s Game. Slowly I started to get the hype. The Stand was glorious. I loved IT. Add some more in between and then, having heard about The Dark Tower, I tried the first book. I hated it. I had to ask someone who recommended it if it’s worth continuing since The Gunslinger was sooo boring. He told me to try at least the sequel and decide after that. And boy oh boy. The Drawing of The Three sealed the deal for me in the same way in which the last paragraphs from A Game of Thrones made A Song of Ice and Fire my former favourite series. And this is how Stephen King became my favourite author. Aside from the writing style, the one thing that I found amazing was that most of his books are connected, are part of the same universe. I know there are a few other authors who are doing this (Brandon Sanderson and Sarah J Maas come to my mind now), but he was the first one for me. I found it so inspiring. To trust the worlds you are building so much that you want them to be connected, you want all of them… ❤❤❤TO❤SERVE❤THE❤BEAM.❤❤❤ 📚 Also, have you watched IT Chapter 2? AD: What’s one invention that you’re just waiting to happen, no matter how fictional it might seem at the moment? 📚 Remember when I said how cool and futuristic animated covers feel like? I just discovered the next best thing: animated and engaging books. You have to check @toofarmedia app out to see with your own eyes. #toofarmedia contains all of Rich Shapero’s works and is completely free, so you can just download it and start reading one of the five books (and then the rest). As for myself, I chose to represent The Hope We Seek, a story that revolves around gold, mining camps and a goddess of sorts. I must say, I’ve never seen such an engaging book – there are two layers under each page and when you swipe to see the first layer, gold nuggets are flying and it’s so cool I spent more time than I’d like to admit just swiping to see them move. I’m not going to spoil all the secrets for you, but know that when I saw this app for the first time I went like “Wooow, this is something else”. What are you currently reading? 📚 I felt a bit weird this week (hence not posting). It's like I have 17 tabs open and I'm trying to download 3 movies and the internet speed is trash but it's all in my mind. It's weird because one moment I feel like this and then the next it suddenly goes away and I'm like "pheww, crisis averted" and then it starts again. When I don't feel like this I can't understand how I can feel differently and the other way around. It's like when you're hungry – you don't get the one who has his stomach full. But I started running outside and I suppose this would help. What are you currently reading? 📚 I'm about to start taking the new batch of pics – which is good and bad. It's good cause damn I need a biiit of change, make my feed more colourful and stuff, but it's a bad thing because I know I'll barely have time to read… now, now when I finally got into Throne of Glass series 😭 I kid you not, today, while I was ironing the new backgrounds (I ironed today more than I ironed in my entire life), I couldn't stop thinking about Manon and how Asterin said "witchlings are sacred, Manon. Sacred.". And then I thought about the Ironteeth and about the Crochans and about the Valgs and so on. What's one book that made you shed a tear or two? 📚 As always, I'll shoutout 2 accounts that comment on this pic. 📚 As you probably know from my stories, in the last few days I've read 2 of Khaled Hosseini's books, A Thousand Splendid Suns and The Kite Runner. They were AMAZING. It's been a few months since I last felt this way about a book. It's one of the best feelings ever and it made me ask myself why I read. What's so special about reading? Why am I spending so much time following words on paper? It's so weird if you think about it, that people read books. Reading doesn't fill your belly, doesn't warm your house, doesn't do anything for you except make you… hallucinate? 😂 I think we are some sort of junkies, us readers, don't you think? 📚 The way Khaled Hosseini has written about Afghanistan has been so… full, so vivid, so true. I highly recommend you to read these 2 books, but don't forget your tissues (or, in my case, a towel).
